The Keith County Housing Development Corporation
(KCHDC), a non--profit housing development group, was organized in Keith County in 1995 to assist with providing safe, sanitary and affordable housing to residents of Keith County. The KCHDC is governed by a nine-member Board of Director volunteers. Since inception, KCHDC has assisted over fifty (50) homeowners with down payment and closing cost assistance
(DPA), helped with emergency housing assistance during the flood of 2002, built the
Oak Ridge Apartments rental housing units, and demolished the former hospital building and on that site built the
Great West Townhomes rental project. Monies re-paid to KCHDC from past homebuyer programs are placed in a revolving loan fund and are available to continue the DPA program for first-time homebuyers.
